A family craft, carried forward
Leather has run through three generations of the family. Today every strap is made by hand, for one watch and the person who wears it.
In 1988, my grandfather and father took their first steps into the world of leather with a small shoe repair workshop. At that time, working with leather was more than a profession. It was a craft, practised with passion and care.

My grandfather and father work with leather together for a number of years. As circumstances change, the family moves into other industries and the craft is set aside.
2022
Returning to leather
After years building a career in media, the wish to revive the family craft never leaves me. I begin making leather goods by hand, and soon realise that what I want to create are bespoke pieces, made with care and intention. The work becomes Atelier Taha.
Today
Watch straps, made by hand
Watch straps have become the signature of the atelier. Each one is made for its owner and reflects their style, story and character. Every stitch is done by hand.
The work of the hand
Traditional leathercraft leaves little room for shortcuts. Each strap passes through the same hands from the first cut to the final inspection.

Hand cutting
Each strap is cut from the chosen hide by hand, following the grain and character of the leather.

Skiving
Edges and folds are thinned by hand so the strap sits close to the wrist.

Saddle stitching
Two needles, one thread. Each stitch locks independently.

Edge finishing
Edges are sanded, burnished or painted in layers until smooth and closed.
The finest materials, chosen with care
The leathers come from renowned tanneries in France and Italy. All other components are supplied by respected producers in England, Germany, Japan, France and Italy. Quality is the foundation of the work.
